Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia’s President, said in Berlin on Tuesday Kosovo could not consolidate itself as a state without Serbia, the Belgrade-based news agency reported.

He said Serbia had been internationally recognised country and a UN member state, so it did not need Kosovo’s recognition.

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic says that key messages from the Berlin meeting yesterday focused on an attempt to unblock the stalemate in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, reports RTK2 quoting Croatian news agency Hina.

He added that the views of Belgrade and Pristina are quite distant

President Aleksandar Vucic says he does not think there was "any failure" at Monday's meeting in Berlin - adding that it's better to talk than not to talk.

Responding to question from journalists after the summit ended in Berlin, Vucic said that Angela Merkel's and Emmanuel Macron's engagement was very important and showed their determination to preserve peace in the Western Balkans, as by that they also preserve peace in Europe.

The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church said that he does not belong to any political side and urged unity for the sake of the survival of the Serb nation.

“I do not belong to any political side. I would like and I pray that there will be no divisions among us but a single policy, a single view and one path – the good of our people,” Patriarch Irinej said in an Easter interview to TV Hram which has been published on Good Friday.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Friday in Beijing with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The two leaders are in China for the Belt and Road forum.

According to announcements coming from both sides before the meeting, the main topic was Kosovo.

At the start of their conversation, Putin said he was satisfied with economic cooperation between Russia and Serbia, and that he was glad he could discuss bilateral and regional issues with Vucic.

According to the BIRN research by the end of May last year there were 12.823 property-related cases in the Kosovo Comparison and Verification Agency. These cases mostly relate to the agricultural land, business and residential premises.

Leader of the Serb European Movement from Kosovo and Metohija, Rada Trajkovic stated the police said she would be offered protection, adding she expects to see what kind of protection she will get, Danas daily reports. In the earlier statement made for Politika daily, Trajkovic said she addressed the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs since she felt her, and the safety of her family was endangered.

First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic was on a bilateral visit to Georgia on Wednesday, where he met with Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani.

Dacic emphasized the importance of good and friendly relations between the two countries and its people, expressing satisfaction with successful cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, the government announced.

The Serbian List filed the complaint to the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) following the decision of the Central Election Commission that failed to certify candidacy of Serbian List’s candidates running for mayoral elections in northern Kosovo municipalities, RTK reports. ECAP is a higher instance to take decisions, following the ones made by the Central Election Commission.

Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Djuric said the announcements to deny the right to candidacy of the Serbian candidates in local mayoral elections in the northern Kosovo represents the gravest violation of the fundamental human and political rights of the Serbs. “An idea to impose to somebody conditions related to political stances or national background, and to exclude somebody from taking part in the elections runs contrary not only to all the achievements of the contemporary Europe and civilization in XXI century, but also represents a return to the darkest
