Mustafa to opposition: Return to dialogue at the Assembly (Lajmi.net)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, appealed today once again to the opposition parties to return to the Assembly and dialogue for the problems that concern them. Enver Hoti, member of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) spoke for KTV about the further steps of opposition to object Hashim Thaci’s election for President and to bring down the government. He said that they are preparing to send the issue of election of the president to the Constitutional Court and that they are preparing for the new protest. He added that eventual finding of irregularities on border demarcation with Montenegro will cause additional problems to Thaci.

The three opposition parties, Vetevendosje movement, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), have not decided yet on whether to send the case of Hashim Thaci’s election for president to the Constitutional Court. A senior official from the opposition, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that they are assessing all the documentation.

The three leaders of the opposition bloc, Vetevendosje’s Visar Ymeri, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ramush Haradinaj and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) leader Fatmir Limaj told reporters in Pristina today that starting at 14:00 the opposition will begin its non-stop protest against the government. Ymeri said: “Today we are starting our non-stop protest against this anti-constitutional regime. The protest will go on until the downfall of this government”.

According to the news site, the three opposition parties – the Vetevendosje Movement, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), are planning to set up tents on Pristina's main square in an attempt to prevent Hashim Thaci’s election as President of Kosovo. Unnamed sources told the news site that protesters will stay on the main square until 7 March, the last deadline for presidential elections after which the country would immediately have to hold early elections.

There is no doubt that this is applicable to Ramush Haradinaj,” Kelmendi writes.

The front page editorial of the paper says that yesterday’s meeting between party leaders at the office of the President did not offer anything new, instead, it only proved that the governing coalition has no intention to compromise with opposition, and that protests throughout Kosovo remain the only solution. According to Kosova Sot, the President failed to offer any interesting options either.
