Deda: I will not vote in favor of demarcation agreement on September 1 (media)

Ilir Deda, an independent member of the Kosovo Assembly, told Klan Kosova today that he will not vote in favor of the demarcation agreement with Montenegro when the Kosovo Assembly will meet on September 1. The TV station recalls that in an earlier statement, Deda said that the European Union was not right to condition visa liberalisation for the people of Kosovo with the ratification of the border agreement.

Deda: Visa liberalization for Kosovo, late but deserved (Zeri)

Kosovo MP and former member of Vetevendosje Ilir Deda said in an interview for the paper that the European Commission’s recommendation for visa liberalization is late but at the same time is well-deserved. “It is important that our people, Kosovo, will no longer be a ghetto in the Western Balkans and it is important to have the fundamental right to free movement as dignified citizens of Europe”, said Deda adding that no one is interested of who did or did not take credit for visa liberalization and that all that matters is the end result.

Member of the Kosovo Assembly, Ilir Deda, in a press conference today announced he was officially leaving the Vetevendosje Movement. He said the decision came due to conceptual differences with Vetevendosje over the last nine months. According to Telegrafi, Deda plans to form a new political party which is expected to gather a number of public personalities.

Vetevendosje Movement MP Ilir Deda said today that chances are very low for opposition parties to create a joint election list. “It is now clear that chances are low for opposition parties to come up with a joint election list. This is of great regret since the opposition could win the elections only if united and with a clear government program,” Deda said. He stressed that the only option left is for the new generation to join politics and offer alternative policy to solve problems.

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic says that he expects much greater involvement of the international community in order to implement all the agreed from Brussels. Stojanovic was a guest in the show "Dogovor" (Agreement), broadcasted on the independent Serbian television network in Kosovo and B92 Info channel.

Deda: Thaci’s election will be challenged before the Constitutional Court (Indeksonline)

Vetevendosje MP Ilir Deda said that Hashim Thaci’s election to the post of Kosovo president has only deepened the current political crisis in Kosovo. He said Thaci’s election will be brought before the Constitutional Court. “Let’s wait and see how this case goes and what political consequences it will produce. Nevertheless, it is clear that the most non-unifying and divisive man in Kosovo politics is at the head of the state,” said Deda.

Kosovo Assembly MP from Vetevendosje Movement, Ilir Deda, said for RTV Dukagjni that this year will be the year of early elections.

He said he does not believe that the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Hashim Thaci, will be elected for the president. According to him, the new elections could take place by April.

Deda: I do not participate at the sessions called only due to grudges (media)

Kosovo Assembly MP from Vetevendosje Movement, Ilir Deda, known for his different position from his parliamentary group, said for the media that neither throwing of the tear gas nor suspension of the MPs is legal. Deda said despite of the fact that he was not suspended by the Assembly Presidency, he would not participate at the Assembly session which will be held at an alternative hall.

Deda and Osmani call on political leaders to consider their plan (Koha)

Vetevendojse Movement MP Ilir Deda and Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP Vjosa Osmani, told KTV that by the end of this week they will conclude discussions with all political leaders and if necessary, they will make amendments to their original plan for overcoming the current political crisis. According to Deda, the main purpose of their plan is to bring the political leaders together and discuss the possible solutions. Deda and Osmani will also meet President Atifete Jahjaga by the end of week to discuss their plan.
